So what is digital photography?

Digital photography has been evolving for many years, getting better all the time.

Digital photos can be manipulated on a computer, in the same way that film photos can be "airbrushed" except that it is far less messy! The cameras are almost the same and a good quality digital photograph is estimated by industry specialists to last over 150 years which is comparable to film photography. The trouble is that film negatives have the same life span as film photos which mean both could be useless in generations to come. With digital photography, if you store it correctly it will be with you a lot lot longer and your ancestors will still be able to makes new fresh prints of it, because digital photography is not going away!

It is certainly easier to store and look after the originals. They can be stored on CD, DVD, your computer, even memory sticks and other devices.

Most photographers will not let you near their negatives of your event and they insist on hanging on to the copyright of the photos too. Most would certainly not like you copying their photos of your event. Here at Manor House Photos we have a totally different and fresh approach, if you spend over £200 on photographs between your family and friends we will let you buy at a nominal cost a copy of the pictures on DVD or CD, so that you can send them abroad to distant relatives or just make copies for yourself using your own PC and printers, even use them on your own website!

"But other photographers use SLR cameras", So do we, we just use Digital SLR cameras, the extensive range of lenses we use are identical. We also use pure digital cameras, because we believe in some instances they provide a closer match to the photo you originally imagined and wanted! It is this ability to mix and match not only lenses but cameras that makes a difference to the end photos of you special event. With large events like weddings, you automatically have two professional photographers attending so that whilst "formal" shots are taken, other more informal and candid shots are being taken!

When we print your photographs we use the very best quality materials available because it really does make a big difference. We pride ourselves on our superb quality. However, you won't see that unless you invite us around to show you our portfolio. We always put you first.

It is also possible to put selected photos of your wedding or other event onto a closed and secure website so that you can give your Great Great Uncle in outer Mongolia the password and he can look through them without having to leave his house, providing he has access to the internet of course! Please ask us about this free service when you ring us up for a quote.
